Just purchased a new 2024 KIA Telluride. Standard warranty is 3/36 bumper to bumper and 10/100 powertrain. Dealer is offering extended warranty coverage thru United Car Care Service, Platinum Coverage level which extends the 3/36 coverage to 10/100.
Initial price was $5,999. When I advised that I couldn't make a decision without researching, price dropped to $3,999 with 24 hours to decide.
I have NEVER been a fan of extended warranties and generally never purchase them. My last vehicle purchase was a used Ford F-150 which came with an extended warranty thru Ford, that turned out to be very beneficial because I had three separate issues that occurred after the original warranty expired but were covered under the extended warranty.
The extended warranty being offered on the KIA is NOT a Kia product, it's third party. I've read about lots of issues with third party providers denying claims, it seems to be commonplace.
Any thoughts pro or con on this extended warranty? Anyone have experience with it?
