I am looking to get a portable monitor for use with my laptop as a primary or second screen while travelling. I see some 16" 2560x1600 models in the $110-$150 range, with the $150 ones being 120-144Hz with freesync. Primary purpose is not for gaming, so I am not sure about the high refresh rate and freesync, but I have noticed that high refresh rate monitors look good even when used for general purposes, so maybe worth it.
There are also the rare ones which come with a portable cover, and have vesa mounting holes so I could potentially mount it as a second screen for my desktop when at home, which I like (of course, these cost a bit more).
I think 15-16" and 2.5k or 4k resolution is what I am looking for. My laptop has a 1080p screen and thats too low res for my work. Not AV work, so while colour accuracy is nice, its not a requirement. Anyone have experience with these portable monitors, and have recommendations or things to look out for when buying one?
