My son is a Senior and is graduating in May 2024. I was able to tuck away some money into Ibonds a couple years ago when they were at their peak recently. It was also nice that using them for College is tax-free. Now that the ibonds have dropped in rates, I was hoping to move it elsewhere while still being tax advantaged, if possible. I read that cashing out the ibond and moving it to a 529 will protect it from taxes.
Also, for a 3-4 year time horizon, would a 529 be the best way to go? With the 4 year time horizon, I want to keep it conservative and even found CDs within the 529 at 4.5% for 2 years
