Hey there, I have a XE1000 3.5 tons Central A/C with Rheem 140,000 BTUH input oil furnace.
They are 27 years old and I am planning to change both (They are working fine but doing the ground work for replacement).
I prefer simplicity than complexity - lower initial cost and ease of repair and hence ditched the idea of HP and 2 stage A/C.
The current A/C is a single stage so is the oil burner and have two zones with ecobee thermostat works flawlessly.
Based on my research I have narrowed down to :
Trane A/C XR15 SINGLE STAGE and
Thermo Pride OL8A119T60B (Beckette burner)
Has any bogglehead members have the above combination and what kind of price should I expect for installation. Any advice?
