Hello folks,
Context:
This video challenges the index fund approach and works with the premise that that path can make you rich but you'd be old by then. Some of my friends also hold the same views. While I am committed and but I do not have a very good answer to these challenges. I consciously challenge my hypotheses to ensure I keep validating them.
What I am seeking from this group:
Context:
- 29M
- I started my journey in 2022, so I am still "new"
- I started disciplined investing based on Bogleheads/Simple Path to Wealth principles
- I live below my means, max out 401k, Backdoor-Roth, Megabackdoor and invest the rest in my taxable brokerage
- I have been able to increase my income at work and my net worth is progressing healthily (according to me)
- I have a small auto-loan, something I can comfortably pay-off right now, but not doing that since the interest rate is fairly low. No CC debt.

What I am seeking from this group:
- Is it true that this path would only let you enjoy the benefits once you are past your prime?
- Folks who are way farther in their journey - could you share how your experience has been?
- I don't consider myself a jealous person - but I do have feelings about if I am "missing out" and would be left behind. How does the group think about tackling these?
