I've had a custom built tandem axle trailer, with brakes, for 14 years.
Early on, we used it for heavy construction materials, stacks of "railroad ties (heavy), and to haul my tractor, ATV, Golf cart, etc.
Now, we rarely use it. Probably to take the tractor to John Deere for repairs, etc.
The tires were covered most of the time, but now, are showing signs of age, dry rot, and cracking.
I know nothing about trailer tires.
When I looked at the listings from Big O, Discount, Walmart, etc, they all have odd names.
The tires on the trailer are:
205/75/15
6 ply
Load range C
I read that it was better to have "radial" tires because we have some high speed open highways in our area of the country.
1
Any suggestions on tires?
2
Should I remove the 4 tires and get them into the back of my truck, then take them to a tire place, or take the whole trailer?
Thanks for your help.
