BHs:
I ordered a MacBook online for a store pick up using credit card #1. Later that day, I realized that I was eligible for a discount if I used some of my credit card reward points that I had accumulated through credit card #2. So went to the store and requested a cancellation of the online order first. Then applied all the credit card rewards points from CC#2 onto my apple account (as suggested by the sales person at the store) and proceeded to purchase a new MacBook at the store. I was informed the refund was on its way back to my credit card #1. So far so good.
All this happened a month ago and I never bothered to check my credit card #1 for the refund as I thought this should be a straightforward refund. I just logged on today and didn't see the refund. So I called Apple. Long story short, they are telling me that the entire amount has been transferred to my Apple account and I can only use it towards another Apple product. They are refusing to refund the amount to my CC. Their initial justicaition was that I might have used my Apple account to make the purchase and hence the refund to the Apple account. When I said no, they simply said that they cannot help me and it this their policy to refund credits to consumer's Apple account. Has anyone encountered this?
Thanks in advance.
