Has anyone had completely new trust documents drawn up by a new attorney?
I think I’ve finally found someone in whom I have confidence to update our revocable living trust, if he’s accepting new clients. He is a partner in a large firm in a wealthy area, so I suspect the fee to be $1000/hour or higher. When we first had our trust documents created we had wills, the trust, advanced health care directives and reciprocal powers of attorney documents created.
Is it customary to redo all of these documents when having a new trust created? Would an entirely new document still be considered a restatement of trust, using the same name as the original with the restatement date included? I guess I could ask the attorney all of these questions but would like to keep the billable minutes to the a minimum, per helpful recommendation from bsteiner in an earlier thread.
