Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Cost of Inheritable Assets Amendment to Prenup

I am looking for some advice on whether or not the cost that we've been quoted by a trust attorney is reasonable.

Context: my wife and I have a prenup in place that keeps inherited assets separate in case of divorce. We have explicitly called out the use of inheritance for things like housing. We currently own a place that I used money that I inherited when my dad passed away for a down payment. We are in the process of moving and my wife's father surprised her with a "living inheritance" to add to our next down payment. We have explicitly called out inheritances in the prenup (both sides had representation).

We reached out to the previous attorney that represented my wife and we were quoted $3,000 to complete a joint ownership property agreement.

Two questions:

1) is this a reasonable cost for such an agreement?
2) What is the point of a prenup if we have to execute a new agreement?
