Bogleheads!
My son´s birthday is late in the year, basically a few weeks past the Kindergarten cutoff date in Ohio, which is Sept 30, which will then lead to entrance into elementary school the year after. I went to school at 6y and 2m and almost died of boredom in elementary school and dont want to aggravate this problem for him by having him start school at 6y and 11m old.
Folklore has it that the local school district isnt very supportive of early admission. We contacted a private school around here and they follow the state´s calendar w/o exception.
I figured NY State is the last state in the country that has a December cutoff date and this is annoying me so severely that I am contemplating to move as both my wife and I work remote. Maybe somewhere to Upstate NY. But then again this also seems extreme to me. And then this problem seems extreme to me too.
I cant be the only person who struggles with this situation and is looking into options. What are y'all doing who find themselves in this situation?
