Personal Finance (Not Investing) • QTIP and SLAT?

DW and I met with an estate planning attorney who recommended both a QTIP and a SLAT Trust for each of us (4 estates in addition to Revocable living trust). I understand I need the SLAT for estate tax proposes but doesn’t the QTIP trust do the same asset protection that SLAT does? My estate is over the estate tax limit. Im in my early 40s.
