Personal Investments • CAUTION: Vanguard mobile app bug

Just wanted to caution anyone who is using Vanguard mobile app to do transactions.

I have been using the Vanguard mobile app for depositing and withdrawing money from the settlement fund in my brokerage account. It has worked for the past several years without a glitch.

But two days ago, I made a request to withdraw $3,000 from my settlement fund. It automatically added a duplicate request for $3,000. There was no option in the mobile app to cancel the transfer requests. I thought the second one would cancel by itself, but it did not. Now I see two transfers for $3,000 into my bank account. I was prepared for this since the settlement fund had more than enough to cover both transfers. It does not concern me much to call them up, wait in a queue, file a complaint and revert the duplicate transaction.

From now on, all my transactions with Vanguard are going to be only via the computer.
