So I tried searching but could not find an answer to this.
I can go to VG on the "My Dashboard: page, click on any of my accounts, click the pulldown menu at top of page @ "Show". Click "Distribution Payouts" at bottom of pulldown, and see dividend, interest, ST cap gains, LT cap gains, other income, & total distributions for any of my accts by toggling the tabs and choosing a timeframe.
For now am interested in amounts for 2023 by qtr & the full year.
It is easy enough on Vanguard's website to view past distributions from my funds (dividends, interest, ST/LT cap gains) for the past year or two by year or quarter.
But I always struggle to find that information on Fidelity website. I have seen if before but I recall it is buried down a couple levels and I can't seem to find what I thought I have been able to find in the past.
I can find the information in #1 & #2 below @ Fidelity. But does not provide any LT or ST cap gain info that is show at VG.
#1) I can find dividend & interest info by going to: Account Positions --> Activity & Orders -->, set the filters to time of my interest &, go to "More Filters" and check "Dividends/Interest" filter box and add up the "+" values. But if doesn't indicate any LT/ST cap gains amounts you would see arrive during Q4.
#2) I can also go to: Account Positions -->Dividend View --> More --> Performance-->Choose Acct-->Income-->Set time for year 2023 and it will show the same value I added up in #1 (above). But still, no LT/ST cap gains info included among those distributions?
Does Fidelity just call LT & ST Cap gains "dividends"? Whereas Vanguard actually breaks them out as "LT or ST" cap gains. Or am I totally missing something here?
Thank You
