I scheduled a demo drive with Tesla today. Then they sent me an email with a 'waiver' for me to approve. It said Tesla has no insurance besides the minimum liability required by law ($15k per accident in CA).
So I called my insurer (Geico) and asked them if my insurance provides coverage. The answer was 'NO'. I cancelled the demo drive since I would be driving essentially uninsured.
My question is, do other mainstream auto dealers (Toyota, Nissan, BMW, ...) provide insurance for test drives?
