Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Would you change jobs?

I’m currently employed as an Analyst at a large insurance company. I’m 35, make 155k after bonus, and the job is, well, cushy and boring. It’s also a complete dead end. The company has pushed returning to office, and my choices are either stay employed at my current level indefinitely, or relocate across the country and have the chance at growth opportunities. Remote employees are no longer eligible for internal promotions.

I received an offer today from another company for a Sr Analyst role, and it is nearly the same comp (even after negotiation, the additional amount is nice but negligible to the decision making). Large company, local HQ, and lots of room for growth.

I feel like at 35 I have no desire to be on cruise control, but I am also having a hard time giving up what I’m used to. I guess I’m just looking for wisdom from some other folks. Has anybody ever left something easy for a new challenge, even if it didn’t come with immediate financial benefit? I should note this was the only offer after 200+ applications and only 5 interview call backs. The job market has gotten a little weird.
