This post isn't about debating whether or not one should spend the money on buying high end clothing but instead focused on where to buy it.
Normally, I would go to the annual Nordstrom sale and buy clothing for 30% off every few years. This week I got sticker shock at the pricing for the high end brands which I consider: Brioni, Canali, Cucinelli, Isaia, Kiton, Tom Ford, Zegna (Possibly MTM). At $1500-$2500+, it took my breath away (I have never owned a jacket from any of these manufacturers but am finally in a place that I can afford the splurge. I really love the feel of the silk/wool blended material and want to buy 2-3 sport coats (Earlier this year I had a close call with my health so am determined to reward myself: this is peanuts in my big financial picture).
Bogleheads being about saving money leads me to this question: In my case, I am a size 40S (I recognize that not every manufacturer will fit me the same way so this is a generalization).
Other than Ebay, where else could I buy this clothing new and have a solid refund policy if it doesn't fit?
It seems like the 2nd hand market (New With Tags) offers them anywhere from 30-70% off on ebay). I hope to find other websites beyond ebay.
Thanks in advance.
