Personal Investments • Vanguard's RMD life expectancy

My (62F) husband's (76M) life expectancy for purposes of RMDs is being calculated by Vanguard using the Uniform Lifetime table. Their explanation says, "If your spouse is your sole beneficiary and is more than ten years younger than you, then the Joint Life and Last Survivor Table is used." That is what I understood to be the case - so I'm not sure why they're using Uniform instead of Joint & Last, for us.

UNLESS - is it because he has "secondary" beneficiaries (in the event that I predecease him) of his nephews, who are in their 30's? Does that make me NOT the sole beneficiary, even though I'm the sole primary beneficiary?
