Investing - Theory, News & General • Retirees: what motivated your AA?

I struggle with allocation. For me, we are a year or two from retirement and the key factors I mull over are the following. Seeking feedback on others thoughts and if these factors played a part, and if so, why and how large a factor?

1) I’ve won the game so be as conservative as possible to prevent losses I can’t recoup
2) the greatest unknown is inflation so keep a little higher equity portion than comfortable with
3) 110-56 (age) in bonds as this is common advice
4) allocate 20% or more internationally to avoid a domestic Japan like decades of no growth
5) keep a much higher percentage of equities per warren buffets 90/10% “advice”.
6) don’t over complicate this and simply go 50/50
7) with prominent people forecasting lower total returns, devote higher equity allocation

These are the major thoughts that compete in my head. I’m looking for insight into how others prioritize these and frankly, if I’m in the minority when I find so many thoughts at odds with each other.
