Personal Investments • Funds for Income and some Capital Growth

I am 74 years old retired with SS and a pension that more than cover my expenses and mortgage. I have my IRAs (Roth and Traditional) and my taxable account in the three fund portfolio originally that was set up when I was using Vanguard Personal Advisors (I no longer use VPA). I also have a large cash position. Currently I am 50% Equities; 25% bonds and 25% cash. I don't need my investments and I will probably leave my funds to my son, unless something happens to me. I am currently in the 12% tax bracket, but I am getting close to the next bracket.

I am not a big fan of bond funds. I was thinking of taking my next RMD and placing it in a new fund that "seeks income and capital growth consistent with reasonable risk". I was thinking of spending the dividends/capital gains from this fund instead of reinvesting them. Would Vanguard Balance VBIAX; Vanguard Tax Managed Balance VTMFX of Fidelity Balance or Puritan be good choices for my objective? What fund would you suggest for my goal. Any suggestions for a fund to create some income and capital growth would be appreciated.
