Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Career change to helping people with finances

Hey all,

I'm a 48 year old guy who has been lucky enough to work in the technology industry for about 20 year. I've done.. ok, but I'm getting to the point that I'm thinking about a career change. And one of the things that I've become passionate and knowledgeable about in recent years is: low cost investing, and sensible financial planning (thanks, in part, to this fine community).

So as I ponder what I want to do in the future, I wonder if there's a way to bring turn this interest into a profession. I think I would be a pretty good financial planner EXCEPT: I wouldn't want to do the heavy sales work, and I wouldn't want to sell people on expensive solutions. So I wonder if anyone has suggestions, or has had success doing this?

Are there good jobs out there? What are those job titles? And who employed them?
