Personal Investments • Trying to liquidate fixed income

I have a portfolio at Morgan Stanely with many dozens of fixed income positions.

I decided to liquidate them in order to simplify my portfolio.

The guys at MS says the only way is to put out a small number at a time to the fixed income traders and wait for the bids to come in.

So I did that with the first 10.

Each and every position came with a bid lower than the "value" shown when I look at my account online. That is, each bid was lower than the last sale price. Some by very little (.3%) and as much as 2%.

Am I wrong to conclude that the value of these holdings as shown on my account (online) is therefore not accurate (something is only worth what someone will pay for it, right?)?

Is there another way to liquidate these that would result in a higher value?

Thank you.
