Personal Finance (Not Investing) • California tax return lost in mail

I (perhaps foolishly) sent over my California tax return via "certified first-class" USPS mail early last week. It was supposed to be delivered within 2 days but I had just received a message from USPS that the mail has probably been lost. I am very concerned that someone may have intercepted the envelope and may use the information for fraud or perhaps even re-submit the tax return with modified bank account information. I'm looking for general advice about how to protect myself in this situation and in particular how should I proceed with the California FTB. I already have standard practice protection measures in place (e.g. two factor authentication where possible, frozen credit reports, PIN number on my IRS account, etc.) but for California there does not seem to be a straight forward way on the FTB website to confirm arrival of a tax return / block a return or request a PIN protection. Any advice would be welcome, thank you!
