I'm reading Bernstein's second edition of the Four Pillars. He is not supportive of international bonds (currency risk, and more credit risk than the US Treasury). Several other books I've read say the same -- bonds are for preservation and safety -- which runs counter to the idea of seeking more yield with international bonds.
