My front door is 40 years old and has started blowing open with high winds. It needs to be replaced.
I've read prior discussions on this topic on this site and have googled the pros and cons of steel vs fiberglass doors. I am having a hard time choosing. I like the energy efficiency of fiberglass, but I am just going to paint it white, so I don't really need a fancy wood grain looking fiberglass door and they are a lot more expensive. Should just get a steel door because it's cheaper and I'm just going to paint it anyway? I just have a normal middle class house in a rural area in NE Ohio. Not sure of the ROI vs utility bills. I wouldn't mind spending a lot of money on a front door if it was worth it.
