hello
I am Living in retirement (68) with < 700k IRA 70/30 stock/bond AA. Mortgage is paid and no debt.
MFJ 10-15% tax bracket
I have built a ladder of investment grade ishares ibonds etfs within my IRA to ensure I meet my expenses in the 4-7 year horizon. (Years 1-3 are in MM. Emergency fund is after tax MM.) I like the comfort aspect of these fixed maturity etfs.
my question:
Is there a significant advantage to reinvesting the distributions from these etf’s? or is it better to let the distributions flow over to the MM to replenish the emergency fund as needed?
admittedly I struggle with bonds vs. bond funds concepts
thx
