Dear bogleheads,
I am a NM resident with a house and family in the state and have accepted a position in El Paso TX.
I rent in El Paso and commute home for the weekend .
My TX employer withholds NM state income tax , I believe it is 4,7%.
What are your thoughts about claiming TX residency in order to avoid that?
Is it advisable, is it complicated, is it fraudulent?
Anyone here in a similar situation?
