Hi, a new user here.
I'm based in Cyprus and have accumulated a relatively sizeable (for me) chunk of USD as a result of a number of consulting projects I undertook over the past few years (got paid in USD).
All is now currently parked in IB01 ($ Treasury Bond 0-1yr accumulating ETF) at IBKR.
My best estimate is that I won't need this cash for another 10 years. Hence I'm looking to invest a part (or all) of it in equities.
I'm more or less comfortable with the idea of Ireland-based ETFs, though the costs are higher, the spreads are wider and the commissions on European exchanges are not that good compared to US exchanges.
I'm looking to invest in USD, as this is the currency I have, and most of these equity ETFs have USD as their base currency anyway.
Also accumulating is a nice option for me, as I won't need the distributions in the above time horizon.
It seems that iShares UCITS ETFs are pretty solid, and these are the top ones I found:
CSPX / iShares Core S&P 500 UCITS ETF / 0.07%/ USD acc / LSE
IWDA / iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF / 0.20% / USD acc / LSE
EIMI / iShares Core MSCI EM IMI UCITS ETF / 0.18% / USD acc / LSE
I'm open to suggestions on Vanguard funds as well, though have not yet researched them.
So, a couple of questions:
1) Which equity ETF or ETF combinations would you suggest and in what proportions?
2) Given the markets are at all-time-highs, how best to deploy the investment into the market?
I get that market timing doesn't work, but still...
