Because of a miscommunication, My insurance company cancelled my home insurance and sent the unpaid balance to collections. It was a small amount so I negotiated and paid off the balance. I was told that they will not send this to credit card agencies. That part is fine. However, I want to make sure that this late payment does not affect my home insurance score and jack up my rates. Is there a special credit report to check the late payments for home insurance? If there is one, then I will work with the insurance company to take it off. It was their fault after all.
