I was thinking of upgrading our HBO/Max plan from Ad-Free to Ultimate to pick up 4K streaming... (let's ignore for the moment that I at least have a bit of a hard time telling the difference between 4K upscaled material vs 4K native streaing!)

Max 4K $19.99
$4 or 25% more for 4K
Out of curiosity I checked some of the other streaming services I have or am considering...
Youtube HD: $73 ~
Youtube 4K: $78
YouTube charges about $5 or about 7%. (I don't think they have a whole lot of 4k?)
PrimeVideo apparently already includes 4K. No separate pricing for 4K content.
But this is what caught my attention...
Netflix HD: 15.49
Netflix 4K: $22.99
That's a 48% premium to upgrade from HD to 4K.
Yeah in absolute terms this is chump change - but in percentages it did catch my attention... There's other things to consider like subjective quality of material and objective amount of material that is available in either format. Maybe NF has more 4K content to stream than YT or Max.
Anyway that's my $0.02...
