My daughter will be taking a job for a think tank in a small state shortly after getting her PhD in economics this summer. It is a small non-profit. She will be the first economist to be hired there. Their mission is to analyze past and proposed legislation for its effectiveness in accomplishing its intended results on the citizens of the state. She was asked what job title she would prefer. The other 6 employees have the job title of “Director, …”. None of the “Directors” are supervisors, and she will not be a supervisor either.
So the obvious choices are:
Director, Economics,
Chief Economist,
Senior Economist.
What would you all recommend, one of the above or something else?
Thank you!
