All, Is there an income portfolio thread in this forum? Here is my dilemma - I am semi retired and want to generate 4+% returns from my portfolio so I can keep my capital steady and at the same time meet the 4% withdrawal for income in retirement. this forum for most part seems to focus on investing in passive index funds that provide market returns. However index funds can still go down 20, 30, 40% in a market downturn. What investments should one select for an income portfolio which also provides some capital growth? Are beaten down dividend paying stocks an option? Like GIS, CPB etc. Look forward to your thoughts. Thanks.
