My employer is offering us an After-tax 401K plan with option for in-plan conversion to a Roth 401K plan through Fidelity. I have been asking for this benefit for the past few years so was very excited when it was announced.
Through my job (non-profit hospital), I am maxing out my 401K (w/ employer contribution) and 457b plans.
2023 Contributions
401K: 22,500
Employer contribution: 15,512
457b: 22, 500
Total: 60, 512
After speaking with my Fidelity representative, he thought the 457b counted towards my 415c limit, which goes up to 69,000 in 2024. However, he wasn't 100% sure and was going to get back to me. A couple websites i looked at said that 457b does not count. I figured i'd ask here to see if anyone is in a similar situation and knows the answer.
Thanks in advance for the advice.
