Wondering if anyone has ever given a 6-month+ notice of retirement at work?
I am 61 years old and have a enough to retire ($4 million, small pension, inherited annuity, no mortgage, no debt)...so no question there. I am thinking of (and ready to retire), but I am in the middle of a year-long project at work and the company would feel it if I left. And they would have a hard time finding a suitable replacement without affecting the project timeline.
So I was wondering if anyone has been in this situation and what were the plus's and minuses? And how it worked out?
