I became Medicare eligible in 2022 but was on a group plan till recently. A Medicare agent told me on the phone I had 3 months to elect part D before LEP would kick in. It’s now 2.5 months and I’ve decided on a drug plan. Due to IRMAA my D premium is $80 monthly.
So I just read the LEP starts after 63 days. The agent gave me incorrect info. I plan to appeal but didn’t record the call. Any suggestions on how to approach it? Maybe it’s not worth the hassle. The LEP should be small since I’m only late by 2 whole months.
