Personal Consumer Issues • Decline dental and vision until Jan 1?

My wife is switching jobs and currently I am on her old employer plan until the end of the week. I will go on her health insurance for the rest of the year, but we are debating to skip vision and dental until Jan 1.Is this a good idea? All 5 of our family members have had our dental and vision exams including eye glasses and fillings. No one is scheduled for appointments until March. So what is the point? Are we missing something? I think if someone has an accident where the tooth is knocked out, it goes on medical anyway. This saves 70 bucks a month for the next 3 months
