Questions
1. I'm very green with all of this so please forgive my ignorance or if I've forgotten something. Very simply, I've decided it's the right time to start an investment portfolio but I have no idea which investments to look at or where to put my money. To be frank, I barely understand common definitions beyond a basic understanding of stocks and bonds. I am applying myself to learning more each day as much as I am able. I currently have between $4k and $8k per month that I would like to contribute to a portfolio. We currently use Vanguard if that makes any difference.
2. I am also hoping to start a 529 for our daughter (3 year old) but would love some advice on how to build it. My father-in-law advised looking at the VTI Total Stock Market ETF, VWELX Wellington Fund, and the VWINX Wellesley Income Fund as good places to start building the 529. Would love some second thoughts on this as well.
Feel free to ask any and all clarifying questions. Thanks in advance for your time, help, and advice!
