Usually using up my storage on my iPhone is rarely an issue but things were getting a bit tighter when I tried to figure out why. A few things I found out which aren't optimal from an user perspective.
You can view how much storage each app and its data takes on the phone. One issue is that you can have an app that only uses 300MB but it is taking up another gigabytes more. And apple leaves it up to the app whether you can delete the data separately from the app and most do not.
I frequently use Audacy and its app is fairly small but it was storing a ton of data and I have no idea why since I don't download podcasts, etc. Unfortunately the only way to fix this is to delete the app which also removes the data, restart the phone and then reinstall the app. I did this for afew apps and saved quite a few gigabytes.
Its unfortunate that apple doesn't allow you to do this easier.
Anyone know a better way?
