Investing - Theory, News & General • Help to understand Financial advisor fees

So, to start with I handle my own investments and generally follow the boglehead ways, but I am curious.

How does one’s financial advisor make money off of them? I understand expense ratios of the funds they may put you in, but that charge goes to the fund itself right? Therefore, if a financial advisor puts all your money into a mutual fund, how does that person actual get a commission off of it?? I’m sure they charge you to buy/sell/move money around, but once money is sitting in a fund, how does the advisor make anything off of your money?
