Non-US Investing • [Australia] 25 Yr Old Portfolio Advice/validation

Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Seeking mainly confirmation I'm not doing anything too stupid and my thinking is clear.

Country of residence: Australia.

International lifestyle: Currently Australia (Melbourne) based, can't see myself living in Australia forever. Rough plan would be to move to US within roughly 10 years.

Age: 25.

Desired asset allocation: 100% stocks. Happy and mentally prepared to take hit if market tanks.

Emergency funds: Pretty safe. Very secure job and can move back in with parents/loan money if anything goes pear-shaped.

Debt: No debt.

Annual Income: 115k year + work pays for phone and phone bill. This is also expected to grow substantially in coming years.

Portfolio: Now this is my biggest question mark and where I'm seeking a bit of guidance. Currently my portfolio looks as the below:

Stocks:
VTI: 50k

Superannuation:
HostPlus: 40k

Cash (HYSA):
80k AUD

My biggest concern is if I'm making a mistake investing my money into VTI on the NYSE (Broker is IBKR, so fees/etc are small), as compared to investing in ASX:VTS (which is the Australian domiciled equivalent). Tax/etc hasn't been an issue for me in the past and I somewhat understand the tax treaties.

My thoughts are with me planning to move to the US is to continue to invest into VTI, however if I never do move to the US, is there anything I'm missing that may come back to bite me in regards to investing in this? I'm planning to dump 70k of my cash into this (or equivalent etf if I'm being silly with this current strategy).

I've also considered the idea of purchasing an investment property and renting it out but I think I'd rather not deal with the stress/feel locked down to a location/etc to bother.

To summarize, am I being silly investing in VTI instead of the Australian domiciled versions? And from a glance does this look like I'm on the right path forward? Not a whole lot of my family/friends are too experienced investment/money wise so hard to get an outsiders/unemotional review of my position.

Cheers,
