I would like to consolidate my mother's numberous investment accounts to Fidelity. She has several IRA accounts and several non IRA accounts at several banks. All accounts are 100% invested in bank CDs. These CDs have maturities all over the place.
Using the Fidelity chat, they told me I could transfer ALL the CDs to them and have only 2 accounts; one IRA account and one non IRA account. They also said there would be no penalties with the existing bank CDs because I could hold them to maturity within the Fidelity account.
So, do you all think this is correct. I'm beginning to question if I could hold bank CDs in a Fidelity account.
Thanks for your expertise,
Ron
