My wife and I are stopping over in Iceland for a brief layover on our way to a wedding in Switzerland in late July.
Tentative plan:
Day 1 - Arrive 9:20 a.m., stash bulk of luggage in locker at airport (keeping small backpack for overnight stay), take bus to Reykjavik. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the city in the afternoon followed by a nice dinner. Stay at hotel in Reykjavik.
Day 2 - Take small group bus tour of the ‘Golden Circle’ to see the natural beauty of the island. Take bus back to airport, get luggage from locker, stay at the Hotel Aurora at the airport.
Day 3 - Flight to Zurich departs 7:20 a.m.
Does this itinerary make sense? Any recommendations for tour providers, hotels, and/or restaurants?
