I was considering vanguard long term tax exempt bond fund for all of my muni bonds. Right before I lump summed into it, I found this Avantis ETF AVMU. Just looking at it, it seems to have a duration less than the Vanguard intermediate muni bond fund (4.35 years vs. 4.7 years) and a yield higher than the Vanguard long term muni bond fund (SEC yield 3.71% vs. Vanguard intermediate @ SEC yield of 3.27%).
This seems rather compelling and would consider maybe putting half into this and half into vanguard long term bond fund? Would definitely be a contender for tax loss harvesting at a minimum.
What do the long term muni bond holders think? This is a new asset class for me.
