Personal Finance (Not Investing) • authorization process for freezing/unfreezing credit

Hi All,

I know that all 3 credit bureaus allow for the ability to 'freeze' credit. My question is, how is the ability of the credit to be 'unfrozen' authorized? Is there a password-controlled account, for example, for the management of this function or some other process?
