Hello all,
I have a 2011 diesel E class which I love and want to get it to over 200,000 miles. I bought this vehicle because the dealership was between my home and work. It's a great vehicle. Maintenance and repairs have been pricey, but nothing I can't manage. The dealership takes care of me when I have to drop off my vehicle and they get me to work or get me a loaner.
I was minding my own business not bothering anyone when I saw the Maybach sedan and SUV. Stopped me in my tracks. I want a Maybach!
Buying a $250,000 Maybach would be 5.7% of my net worth (not counting property). I have a military retirement pension and am working on my 2nd pension. I breached the 37% marginal tax rate last year. I'll probably be in the 35% tax bracket this year, but that's what I thought last year.
I know I could afford it (even the insurance, personal property tax, maintenance, etc), but I never spent that much on a vehicle before. I guess I could sell it and get a Toyota if I ran low on money.
I got my 2011 new for $48,000 out the door.
How do some of you deal with falling in love with a vehicle and loosening the purse strings? I spent $64,000 last year and that's because I put a new roof on my house! I guess I could just lust from afar until the want goes away.
There is always something that demands my money like a new roof. For years, I saved for a Birkin only for it to be taken by a relative's need or a personal need. I never did get the Birkin.
My E class sips diesel and I usually tank up monthly. The Maybach gulps gas! Does anyone know if Maybach has a diesel in its lineup? I'm not interested in electric unless its a hybrid.
Oye! I never fell in love with a vehicle before! Help!!
