Personal Consumer Issues • Bat advice

I live in Northern California and it seems a bat (and maybe a few of them) like to hang out by an attic vent under the eave of my home. Fortunately they don't seem to have made it into the attic, but they leave a lot of poop on the ground. I don't think they're nesting there--I don't see them during the day--but they must perch there at night. On the brighter side, there seem to be fewer mosquitos on my property :) The pest control company we work with doesn't do anything for bats. I looked online and it seems most people use barriers to exclude the bat. Since the bats are on the outside of the house, it's not entirely clear to me what exclusion would look like. This hasn't been going on for too long - something I read online suggests that bats may migrate so perhaps wait and see? What would you do????

Thanks!
