Personal Finance (Not Investing) • California Tax Forms

I'm an Illinois resident that sold real estate in California (for a loss) back in 2019. California reached out stating that I owe taxes as they believe it was a gain. They are stating that I need to complete the California non-resident tax forms and submit them at my earliest convenience.

Unfortunately my Illinois CPA is not capable of assisting with the forms. I was wondering the best route to take for assistance? I've heard that I should search the California Society of CPAs for someone who could help? Is this advisable? Would a CPA help with a few forms that likely won't take more than an hour? I've attempted to complete the documents myself but stopped as I felt I was guessing what to do too often.

Any other ideas? As I mentioned I have documentation that the property was sold at a loss.

Thanks in advance!
