Hi --
My husband and I are 37/38. We have lived pretty frugally and have worked hard at a simple rural life. We have 3 young kids and recently moved to a HCOL area in Utah for the outdoor life, work and services for our youngest with special needs. We sold the house in 2021 (we built), did a partial 1031 exchange, put 360k in commercial property (which my husband's company rents from us) and have 700k (split between banks) in HYSA. My husband is a partner in a construction company, but with the move he is looking at selling (partner buyout at 380k) or transferring equity into a new branch in our new state. We are super conservative fiscally, and would like to buy a house, but are content renting for the time being. We do no have any debt whatsoever. I have been a stay at home mom for the last 10 years, doing part-time work and have no retirement savings of my own. My husband has 80k in his 401k. We had a guy in our old state that filed our taxes, including the k1 for the business, but I was not happy with him and would like to find someone new. I need advice of who to even turn to. We are happy working hard, but don't know what we don't know and don't know who to turn to to help us with our money. Help!
