Personal Finance (Not Investing) • RMD questions

I am a few years away from RMDs. I have to start at 73 with a birthday in November of 2029. I understand I could push it back to 2030and take two RMDs that year but that is not my plan. I would use my tIRA value from 12/31/2028.

Q1-It is not prorated? For illustration it would be 100000 divided by 26.5 or ~ 4000 to be taken in 2029 regardless of my birthday month.

Q2-Can I take the RMD anytime in 2029 or does it have to be taken after my birthday to count as the RMD?
