Almost every time since about November I look at my retirement accounts, the total is higher. I keep thinking I will get tired of looking but I don't. I lived through the go-go 90s and I know this is not that, because I am diversified enough to have a little bit of fixed in there as well, and a healthy emergency fund. I didn't have either of those two in the 90s. My goal of doubling my net worth since July 2021 has been obliterated. The net worth % increase from July 2021 to May 2024 is on pace to be about 235%, instead of the 200% that was the goal.
I just wish I could stop looking every day. This is like some kind of weird natural drug or something.
The coolest thing was the other day when the market went up big in one day, my investments went up more in that day than my monthly salary as recently as 2019. Crazy!
